MissingNo. The theory of Creation This gets very confusing. You have to know a lot about Pokemon to fully understand.
First of all, MissingNo. is a rare Pokémon with no Pokédex file, name, or picture. When you bat into a battle with it, its picture is scrambled and its name is either MissingNo. or "M." It's a glitch. But how was it created?
You probably already know, all Bird Pokemon, or Pokemon that have the type flying, have Flying as their second type, never the first. This is thought to be caused by some error whenever the Flying type was put in as the first type. Here's the reasoning behind it:
Pidgey is the first Pokemon that is completely Flying. Charizard was the first flying, but he HAD to be type 1 fire because, well, he's a fire Pokemon. Since Pidgey was the first Flying Pokemon, Nintendo probably tried to make him type 1 Flying, I mean, that would make sense, right? It probably messed up for some reason and they had to start over with a new Pidgey, putting Flying in type 2 and replaced type 1 with Normal.
To back up that the Normal type on Pidgey has no real use besides preventing error:
Normal has the weakness of fighting type Pokémon.
Flying is very resistant against fighting Pokémon.
When Pidgey is attacked by a fighting Pokémon, it's resistant, but a fighting move should be good against a type 1 Normal Pokémon.
Also, Pidgey can be found on the edge of Cinnabar normally when the code isn't used. Maybe this was a spot where they forgot to correct the Pidgey error, especially when coming from talking the guy with the coffee.
And MissingNo. even knows Flying attacks!
That's my way of seeing it, and it's hard to argue with that. If you have something to add or change, try to convince me by emailing me at Charzilla5@aol.com.
The biggest mystery about MissingNo. is, why does the game call it MissingNo.? I know it means Missing Number, but how did the game name it? Unless Nintendo named it, the game is possessed. They must have known it was going to appear. Why didn't they fix it? Are they just lazy?
