Ok, ok...so I didn't like this show that much at first. I thought it was kind of
stupid and childish. Now it kinda grew on me. Anyways, this anime is about some dumb
kid named Ash who wants to be a Pokemon Trainer. What's a Pokemon you ask? A Pokemon
is a Poket Monster(I know pocket is spelled wrong. I think it's a
mistake in the translation). They live in the wild and if you can catch one you
keep 'em as pets or train them to fight other Pokemon. When you catch them you can
put them in this little pod that can be shrunk to a portable size. SO... Ash travels
with his fellow Pokemon trainers Misty and Brock in order to collect the 8 Pokemon
badges needed to enter some Pokemon contest. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention Pikachu!
Pikachu is a Pokemon that travels along side Ash. Ash doesn't keep Pikachu in a pod
and lets him roam free. Pikachu is the coolest out of the 150 different known
types of Pokemon. His special power is the ability to shock opponents with lightning
blasts.

This is where the Pokemon insanity started. This Gameboy game was so successful in
Japan, it led to an Anime, dolls, Tamogotchis, keychains, etc. Basically it was a
strategy/RPG type game. Now its out here in the states.
