I love this comic. It's about basketball (duh). There's this guy named Sakuragi who
has been rejected by 50 girls in his three years of junior high. Then in his freshman
year at Shohoku High, he meets her. She is Haruko, the little sister of the
captain of the basketball team. Of course Sakuragi does not know this yet. She sees
Sakuragi's height of 188cm, and asks him if he likes basketball. Sakuragi responds
"Yes, because I am an athelete!". Later he finds out that Haruko only has feelings
for Rukawa, the freshman basketball sensation. Sakuragi is devestated. He swears
hatred towards the basketball team. Then he got pissed and beamed a basketball at the
captain of the team. All hell breaks loose. Akagi, the captain, challenges Sakuragi
to a 1 on 1 match. Akagi has to score 10 points before Sakuragi scores one. The match
ends with Sakuragi dunking over the head of Akagi. So Sakuragi joins the basketball
team in order to become a better player than his rival Rukawa, and win the heart
of haruko.
