Story
As in previous Castlevania games, the arch-vampire Dracula and his minions are again prowling the land of Castlevania. Being creatures of the night, the vampires hide during the day, but gain power at night when they roam the land in search of blood. Time will pass realistically in the game, and you will have to alter your strategy depending on the time of day. During the day you can explore in relative safety. But when night falls, beware! If a vampire sucks enough of your blood, you may become one yourself! A clock item will enable you to tell what time it is, and plan your journey accordingly. A variety of lighting effects will be used to simulate the passing of time. During the night, your field of vision will be restricted, and many vampires will appear. Daytime exploration is not totally safe, however. Vampires will attack in areas which contain many shadows. One method you can use to defeat these vampires is to drive them into the light.

Each of the characters has their own unique story line. The game is also said to have branching pathways, so its not the same game twice (possibly like Castlevania 3). So even if you play through the game once, there will be levels you didn't get to play.

The story is to be moved along by realtime cut scences. This seems to be becoming the norm in all N64 games. Considering the power of the N64's graphics, this should look pretty cool.
