"Mercy."

Strange Same Dogma is officially closed.

Don't look so shocked, I'm merely burying the corpse. What does a dead website smell like after 90 days?

"Hi there,

I'm not meaning to brag or anything, but I think you'd really enjoy my web site. It has loads of stuff on Marilyn Manson, tons of drug info, stuff on Kurt Cobain, a little bit about piercings, lots of links, and a whole lot more! Anyway, I just thought you might like to check it out.

Here's the URL: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Exhibit/6916

Enjoy, and don't forget to sign the guestbook!
Jade M."

That is the stench that reminded me to put Strange Same Dogma to rest. I used to find that kind of putrid fan mail amusing. I don't anymore. I only find it irritating.

Of course, I'm lying. SSD has been dead a lot longer than 90 days. Strange Same Dogma died the day:

  • Mr. Manson's pretension exceeded his worth.
  • It became apparent that their first record was a fluke, and the endless stream of mediocrity that followed was not just a phase to be weathered.
  • Mr. Manson's ridiculous antics, once amusing in their banality, began to repeat themselves.
  • The thrill of building something was dwarfed by the monotony of maintaining it. I'm an architect, not a custodian.

That is all.
