It was a new day and the sun was shining and the birds were shining... just like many other days. She sighed again and started to dress herself. There was no excitement in her life anymore, she had already done everything. When she had left the group for about 150 years ago she did it for their own safety... now all of them was dead, except Zelgadiss. He had kept on living in his Chimera form, but she hadn't told him she was alive. When she had first left the group she had also left the bloodstones... so that Xelloss wouldn't be able to find her if he wanted to, if he did he would probably ruin everything. She would have wanted to see the expression on his face though... when he found them... she had taken her cape and shoulder plates and laid beside of the stones. But the thing was that... after that she had taken a knife and made a big wound on her left side... and made sure that they were todally smeared with blood. Then she had used a healing spell to heal her wound. She wondered also what her friends reaction had been when Xelloss had come with the bad news... she had heard rumors about the swordsman going into shock and then fallen into a coma. He had woken up three years later and didn't remember anything. The princess Amelia had grown up the second she heard it and then became a strong queen later on... but they said she never showed a smile to anyone after that. Zelgadiss had been filled with rage and was still trying to fin the one he thought was the murder. The first thing he'd done was jumping onto Xelloss... but when he had began crying he stopped. Xelloss had been crying becuase of her death... it was really amazing. She sighed again and went downstairs to eat, she now lived a todally normal life... like any other girl. She had normal friends and lived in a normal town, she ran a restaurant which was known because of the good food and the beautiful owner. She was a little worried though, that maybe Xelloss or Zelgadiss would come here, surely Xelloss must be searching for her too. She ate her breakfast, a normal breakfast... okay, not all that normal. It was five times as big as any other 'normal' girl ate but still less then she ate before. She then finished and began cleaning up. The clock read 9 am, it was time to open up. About five minutes later the customers began arriving. They sat and ate and chatted about small things, things that she would have been interesting for a couple of hundred years ago. She sighed deeply again and leaned against a wall. She was so tired, she didn't know why... she was just tired. She closed her eyes for awhile and just hoped she'd be able to stay like that for a while. But when she heard the door open again, she had to open them again and greet her new customer. But when she saw who it were, she quickly hid behind the counter. "XELLOSS" She thought and started breathing heavily, she was going to leave in a few weeks and he had to show up now!? He looked down and sat down by a table in a corner. Lina quickly put on a simple disguise spell and hoped he'd fall for it. Her long fire like hair went short and black, barely reaching her shoulders. Her red beautiful eyes turned a little more young and changed into the colour of brown. She also grew one feet higher. She then stood up, took a deep breath, and walked towards Xelloss table. "Hi there! Would you like to order?" She asked cheerfully and smiled prettily with her eyes closed. He looked at her for awhile and then he closed his eyes and smiled "Yes, I'd like the house's special." "Coming right away!" She said cheerfully and went to the kitchen. She breathed a sigh of relief and leaned against a wall. He didn't recognize her... strangely enough. She cooked the meal he had ordered and then went back to his table. "Here you go sir!" She said cheerfully and put the dish down on the table. "Why thank you, that was fast." She turned to leave but he grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. "Lina-chan, I came here expecting to see your pretty face again and you but on a disguise... that is really disappointing... tst tst... after all the time i spent looking for you, you won't get any tip young lady." Lina changed back into her true form and glared at Xelloss. "I'm no young lady anymore Xelloss." She said and folded her arms. "Compared to me you are... 1000 years is a pretty long time after all." "Well gramps, why don't you eat your meal and then go?" She told him and started to leave again but she pulled her back, his face was now serious. "Lina..." He said and looked her right in the eyes "Do you really want me to leave...? After 233 years of searching for you, you want me to leave just like that?" He sounded hurt but Lina figured he was just playing. "Yeah right, you probably just heard some rumor and went here to tease me, just like you always sid." "Ah, but weren't those times great? the whole group together... but of course, the best were when only we two were together.. alone." He pulled her closer and held both of her hand in his. They looked into each others in which seemed an eternity... then she heard the door open and more customers enter. She slipped her hands out of Xelloss grip and went to take their orders, Xelloss looked after her... a look of pain on his face... a pain which had been there for very long... She took their orders and then went into the kitchen. Xelloss was eating much more quickly then he usually did, and when he finished up he let out a sight... she had really gotten good at cooking in these last 233 years... then he disappeared. All the guests stared at the spot he had been sitting only seconds ago and started murmuring. "Was that a Mazoku?" "That was the trickster!" "He's a legend" "I've heard that he cried when he found out about Lina Inverse's death!" "Yeah I heard that too" " Can a Mazoku have feelings?" Lina listened to the sounds coming from the other room, she had gotten very good at hearing these last years it seemed... or maybe it was because of that spell... She then felt a hand on her shoulder and she quickly turned around. obviously she hadn't gotten good enough since Xelloss had been able to sneak up behind her. "Now that wasn't nice... to leave like that." He said as he held her shoulders. "I..." she tried to say something but he shook his head. "Haven't you missed me Lina?" He asked her and she turned her face away. "Have you missed any of us?" He asked her and turned her face back to look at him. "I want you to look at me Lina... after all these years I want you to look at me." He looked sad, she thought. "I've missed you all..." She said silently. Xelloss hugged her tightly as she began to cry. "I've missed you all..." Xelloss held her and said "You shouldn't have left us Lina... do you know how much you hurt us...?" She began crying harder and he cursed himself. "I... I didn't want to get any of you into danger!" She yelled "I didn't want any of you too..." "It's all right, cry... you need to cry..." He looked down at her, his angel... who he had thought was dead... what a horrible day that had been. He knew she had left the group but he just thought it was for some new adventure... but when he found her cape... and the bloodstones... and the blood. When her had first smelled the blood in the cave he had thought she was in danger and needed help... when he found out it was too late. He had been shocked... and he fell to his knees beside her things... he had been shocked. After sitting there for several hours he picked her belongings up... and went for the group... he had to tell them. When he got there... he had started... "I cried..." He said quietly and rested his head on hers." She stopped crying and asked him "You did? I did hear rumors about what happened to you all... but I could never imagine you cry..." He looked down at her "What? Don't you think I've got emotions?" She looked at him for a while and then she replied "But... you are Mazoku... Mazoku can't feel." "And how do you know that? Ever been one?" He asked her "Aaa... no, but--" He stopped her. "I know that I've got emotions, I don't know why though..." He held her tighter. "Umm... why are you holding me...?" Lina asked him and pulled away. Xelloss was a little disappointed. "Well, you did need comforting... Lina-chan." She looked at his smiling face for awhile and then she smiled herself. "Thank you." She said. "Oh! I almost forgot!" He said. "Forgot what?" Lina asked him. "The Chimera is coming here." He answered and frowned. "ZELGADISS?!" She yelled. "Ahh... yes...." He was smiling again. "Did you tell him I was here?" She asked him. "No... in fact, I wouldn't have found you if I hadn't spied on him, he said he was going to check this restaurant." "To you?" "He said it in his sleep." Xelloss said. Lina facefaulted. "In his SLEEP?" She asked Xelloss and began shaking him. "Ah, yes." He replied with a sweatdrop running down his head. "When did he start talking in his sleep?" She asked him. "Since he thought you died!" She stopped shaking him and sat down on a nearby chair "Since I died... Since she died..." She said quietly and stared at the floor. "You are her, and you will always be her..." He looked at her. "I know, I will never get rid of this... of the Lord Of Nightmares powers... since I'm immortal." She sighed and closed her eyes. "Immortal... just like Mazoku..." He looked at the ceiling and then turned his head to gaze at her again. "No... not like Mazoku... unlike Mazoku... I... I..." She couldn't say it, she simply couldn't... "What Lina-chan? What?" He asked her a kneeled beside her. "I cannot be killed." Xelloss stared at her for awhile "Truly your powers are great indeed but everyone can be killed." He told her. "Not me..." She turned to him and stared into his face. "I've learned pretty much the last two hundred years." "233" he corrected. "Well... I've learned pretty much in the '233' last years... I've mastered more of L'sama's powers... and that... made me immortal forever..." She then turned her face away. "One day no one will be left... only I... and the lord herself will be left... and then... she's going to create new beings... and I'm going to see them die too... and it will continue on like that forever... and I won't be able to die... won't even be able to kill myself i I wanted too..." A tear slid down her face. He stared at her... this Lina was so different... this was another side of her... a sad depressed side... and he didn't like seeing her sad... he wanted her to be happy, always... with him, happy. "Lina-chan..." He said and put her hands in his. "It will be all right... I'm sure it will..." He kissed her hand with a soothing kiss. "I know you're sure... you're always sure... sure that everything will go the way you've planned... sure that I will now join the Mazoku!" She stood up and turned away from him. "But it's not working... I won't join the Mazoku." She said calmly. "Lina-chan... I don't want you too--" "Goodbye Xelloss" Suddenly Xelloss saw lights appear around him and then he was gone. Lina was still there and had tears running down all over her face... the magic she had used now, breaked her heart... it was a spell which made sure that Xelloss would never be able to get any closer to her than 1000 miles... she fell to the floor and began crying hard... she hadn't been crying this much before... never in her whole life had she been crying this much. "Where am I?" Xelloss opened his eyes. He was laying on a grass plain... no matter what direction he looked at he could only see grass and sky. "How did I get here?" He asked himself. He then tried to transport back to Lina but he couldn't. "What the--" he then remembered her saying "I've learned pretty much these last years..." He looked down at the ground "She couldn't... could she..." He looked at the sky and walked towards the the east... it went well... he then walked towards the west, that went well too and the south too. He then tried to walk towards North... but it was something stopping him to go any further... an invisible wall... "Lina... why...?" He felt the sadness well up inside of him, and he felt his heart break into a hundred painful peaces again... the pain... the one pain he couldn't stand... "Why did you seal me away...?" He then fell to the ground and screamed "WHYYYYYYYY???!!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that's done... heartbreaking truly heartbreaking... Yes I know... Xelloss may have been kind of out of character... but wouldn't you be if you had been looking for your true love in over two hundred years...? I would have gone crazy And yes... my writing may be strange now at the end... But I've just seen Shakespeare In Love... such a wonderful story... it must have been one of the best I've ever seen. Usually I don't like that kind of movies... but I like that one... so it must have been reeeally good then.
