The impressions of the vertical rows A, B, and C  were  re-entered prior to  the  plate   being registered. The  D  row  may have  also  been repaired in the same manner.  The  re-entries are  consistent  in  nature which suggests that they are the result of a roller.  In the examples below two of the positions,  BA and DB    show a similar  mark  on the top frame line at the right of the A of  POSTAGE.
