At their peak in the late 1920's and early 1930's painted Hoosiers were more popular than oak. In modern times they have been considered the poor relation but that is now rapidly changing. In both the original Factory finish or creatively repainted many home owners and designers are discovering anew creative and decorative possibilities of the painted Hoosier.
