Magical Compendium of Novel Incantations ~ Plasto Quinon
~ I, the archaeologist
Mistroom Everglance, have explored many ancient sites to bring
to you the knowledge amassed in the Compendium you now hold before
you. Accompanied by only the best adventurers I have entered ruined
keeps and the long abandoned towers of famous
sorcerers. Here I found the spells of old masters of magic like
Dreamweaver and Ingmar. By far most spells however I have found
in safer places. The Master Transmuter of the gnomic University
of Magic of Oredig has granted me to search through the tomes
he made as a young adult, and the vast library of the elves of
Faruel proved a rich source of spells from the famous half-elven
transmutress known as the Green Orion. In this tome I present
you not only these ancient spells, but also the much newer findings
of that famous gnomic illusionist Onno Trickthought, whom I met
at the University of Rockhome.
Making Magical Items ~ Bryan J. Maloney ~ The following is a method I've used to make the creation of magical items in AD&D a great deal more sensible than the nonsense currently available. To be blunt, there is no way to reconcile the vast amounts of enchanted items available in official TSR-published materials with the extreme difficulty had in producing these items. It's obvious to me that absolutely no intelligent thought has been put into this question by the powers that be at TSR.
Net Tome of Magick ~ Robert A. Hayden (Edited by Ole A.
Ringdal) ~ Laugh at those spells from level 10 to 15, yeah...15th
level spells!
Notebook of Illusionary Methods ~ M. Belanith ~ Methods of illusion casting and detailed explanations. Categorized in five categories: Phantasmal Force, Improved Phantasmal Force, Spectral Force,Advanced Illusion and Programmed Illusion. Each illusions is described with it's effect and weakness.

spells, including spells over
9th level (10-15th level spell).
Second tome is 70 pages : Rules for obtaining high (very)

SpellBinder (Shanidar 2nd Edition Draco Sanctus Graal) ~ Stacy-Lynne Savage ~ The Great Dragons of Pan-Tang penned several spells at Shanidar during the time of the 2nd Chyon Interregnum. Only a small few of these works survived the destruction and chaos that occurred during the "Time of Aberration" that followed. Some of these spells are compiled in this Volume of the SpellBinder Shanidar Edition, Draco Sanctus Graal. Although, these spells are only usable by Dragons, they can be adapted and modified for use by Wizards with the proper resources for spell research and creation.
Spells of Gadrwyn Waeth for 3rd ed. ~ Bob Hall ~ This list of spells can be adapted for use with the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game system. Corrections and additions to this document are appreciated. A version of these spells is also available on the web at http://hiddenway.tripod.com/adelfarn/spells.html. Spells converted to 3rd edition. Special thanks to Crystal for thoroughly reviewing these spells!
The Gadrwyn Waeth is a guild of magi located in the travelling town of Adelfarn. Because the town has traveled far and wide over the centuries the wizards have acquired a considerable breadth of magical knowledge. Many of the arcane spells described below are commonly taught by the guild to its apprentices, and are documented in the guild library. Others are carefully stored in warded chambers lest the foolish or the power hungry misuse them. The spells have been obtained from many worlds, and so are not unique to any one setting.
Teaching an Old Mage New Tricks ~ Jim Schofield ~ A few useful tips and tricks for the use of these old spells.
Theory of Illusion ~ Wade Holst ~ A theory about how to interprete illusions from T$R's point of view and from the author of this netbook.
The Net Libram of Random Magical Effects ~ Orrex ~ Here it is! A table with more Wild Surges than a person could ever reasonably need, and then some. Created and organized over a period of several years, this list hopes to provide sufficient chaos to support any campaign lucky or unfortunate enough to include Wild Mages. 10,000 random magical effects, enough for a few decades of campaign
Unification of Wizard and Priest Magic ~ Matthew
"Xeno" Shelton ~ This net.guide is a presentation
for the merging of the spells of wizards and priests into one
list of magic spells which both classes may research, memorize,
be granted, or otherwise acquire, as well as be able to cast.
There are several reasons why I believe that this would be in
the best interest of both classes involved, or at least undertaken
as a viable option for Dungeon Masters for their campaign. They
are:
1. Wizards logically should be able to research and
create spells identical to priest spells.
2. A deity of all things logically should be able to grant
his priest any wizard spell that fits with that deity's sphere
of influence.
3. Wizardly magic, which is magic that emanates from mortals,
can't or shouldn't be more powerful than priestly magic, which
is magic that comes from gods themselves.
4. If the only real reason to have two sets of magic spells
in which wizards have primarily destructive magicks and priests
have primarily healing magicks is so that one class can never
completely replace the other, this is a sad state of affairs and
does not rely on the other talents of either class to make them
more of a desirable choice for role-play. Wizards are more than
just combat mages and priests are more than just healers.
5. There are several spells of both types which are virtually
identical. This, too, suggests that the two types of magic have
been merely duplicated and divided among two groups of spellcasters
and it does no harm to the system to unify them again. In some
cases, one or the other of these pairs have been dropped; in other
cases, they have both been kept and one renamed or modified in
some way. The same might be said for three schools and spheres,
namely Summoning, Divination, and Necromancy, which have wizard
and priest versions. These three schools and spheres alone suggest
a unification if nothing else does.
Wizard Spell List ~ Re-edited & Updated by Matthew Roe ~ First version from an unknow author ~ I found this old list from 1991 and could NOT find the original author/editor of this list nor any updated list. Being a Wizard, I decided to take the copies of several netbooks and add them to this list and update it. This is the 1st draft of that update.
If you have some magic-user spellbooks / netbooks that aren't already listed here, please upload a copy to the blue troll site and send me an email about it. Also, beware of the spell lists from the Tome of Mighty Magic; IMHO several of them need careful examination because they produce effects not proportionate to their level of power. The original Tome was created during the early days before "first edition" D&D.
