| These images have been accomplished for the most
part using rather low cost alternatives for imaging, capture and processing.
Unless stated otherwise, all images were taken at my house 35 miles southwest
of Houston, Texas along the gulf coast. I use a modified Supercircuits
PC23C, one of two $50 digitizers, a rather inexpensive Hi-8 camcorder,
and with the exception of Corel PhotoPaint, freeware processing software
like AstroStack and AviEdit. For color, I'm using a very inexpensive
color wheel/filter set, costing only about as much as a typical set of
1 1/4" RGB filters.
All images were done using my Meade 10" F/6.3 LX-6 SCT and either a 12.5mm ortho eyepiece from University Optics or a 20mm plossel for eyepiece projection. Color images are done using a manual filter wheel made by Andy Saulietis and dichroic RGB filters from Edmund Scientific. Image processing includes unsharp masking from Astrostack, contrast adjustment and minor gaussian blurring from Corel Photopaint. |

| Jupiter was made 11/25/00 with pc23c and eyepiece projection using a 20mm eyepiece. There are 65 frames stacked using astrostack. The image is also reduced in size. |

| Jupiter taken early evening on 3/25/01 from Ft Davis TX near McDonald Observatory. It was taken with a pc23c and is a composite of 63 images. It was processed by AstroStack in X2 resample mode and final processing was done using Corel Photopaint. The image was captured in 320x240 mode via a WinGoTV after initial recording to Hi-8. |

| Saturn taken early evening on 3/25/01 from Ft Davis TX near McDonald Observatory. It was taken with a pc23c and is a composite of 63 images. It was processed by AstroStack in X2 resample mode and final processing was done using Corel Photopaint. The image was captured in 320x240 mode via a WinGoTV after initial recording to Hi-8. |

| Jupc30cs.jpg was made 1/22/01 using a pc23c and eyepiece projection with a 20mm eyepiece. An RGB manual color wheel made by Andy Saulietis was used with Edmund Scientific dichroic RGB filters. From 30 to 50 images for each color were processed using AstroStack and then combined using Corel PhotoPaint. No color corrections or adjustments have been made to the image and no contrast adjustments were made to the 3 images taken through the various filters. Care was taken to have the pc23c in manual mode and no adjustments were made to exposure amounts between the 3 different colors. |
