Christopher uses a 0.05 lux security video camera similar to Steve Massey's LunaCam and records to a capture card of similar resolution to S-VHS.  He uses 2 telescopes; a 10" f/6 Dobsonian reflector and a 4.5" f/9 reflector on a non-driven equatorial mount.  He captures images to computer as AVI files, saves images as BMPs and does image processing with ULead Photo Impact SE.

NGC 4755 (Kappa Crucis) the "Jewel Box"
Unprocessed image made with a 10" f/6 Dobsonian with eyepiece projection, 25mm Plossl, and PS39 Internet camera (lens removed) at 1/4 second exposure. Image processed using histogram option in Ulead Photo Impact.  Resulting image is improvement over original, but still very preliminary.

This trapezium image is a first attempt at imaging a non solar system object.  A 10 f/6 Dobsonian and 0.05 lux video surveillance camera at prime focus was used.  22/02/2000

The moon mosaic was completed after getting a lot of good advice from the VIDEOASTRO group.  The results are greatly improved from the first try.  Thanks to all who replied to my cry for help.  The shots were extracted from an series of captured frames made with the 0.05 lux video surveillance camera and converted from AVI to BMPs. 16/02/00
