My main interests are binocular observation and planetary imaging.  My equipment consist of 11x80 binoculars and 6'' f/8 reflector.  For video work I use a Sony Handycam video8 and Sony tapes, a Philips VR666 (for analog recording) and a computer with a PII processor and Matrox Marvel G200 VGA card with input video capability or Snappy (Version 2.1) video snapshot for digital recording.

My most recent lunar and planetary images were made with a Celestron 8, Connectix Quickcam and 2x Barlow.  Acquisition is under AVI file, I choose only the best of the best and stack them under MaxIm DL, them a MED is applied and occasionally a Unsharp Mask filter under Paint Shop Pro, them adjust contrast & brightness.

Partial solar eclipse 1999/8/11 observed from  38n32 8w54.
The eclipse was imaged with a Sony Handycam Video8, a polymer ocular filter in front of the lens and a tripod. The frames have been digitized with Matrox Marvel G200, blended and individually saved in Photoshop, the final step (animation itself) was made with Animation Shop from Paint Shop Pro 5 shareware version.
