Cutouts Using Dingbats

First we'll make the texture for the background.  Set your background to a darkish color of your choice and set the foreground to a lighter shade of the same color.   Open a new graphic 100 x 100, set to background color, 16 mil colors.   Click on your spray can and in the Tool Options use these settings:

Click on the middle tab and in paper texture selct Parchment as below:

Now go to your 100 x 100 image and line your cursor up at 50,50 and left click once.  Your image should look something like this:

Set this aside for a minute.  

Now open a new Image, 1024 x 200 transparent background.  Click on the flood fill tool and in Tool Options use these settings.  Make sure the Paper texture says none.

Click on the Middle tab and select the texture we just made as your pattern:

And flood fill your new 1024 x 200 graphic with the pattern.

Now click on your Text tool and left click somewhere on your background.  The next window that pops up use these settings.  I typed in the small f. 

Your image should look something like this:

Add a layer then go to Image, Effects, Cutout, I used these settings:

Say Ok.   Now go to Image, Effects, Dropshadow, I used these settings:

Say Ok.  

Go to Layers, Merge, Merge all Flatten.  Sign your piece and save.
