Ornament Presentation to Dianna Stevens

December 19, 1998

Lacemakers of Puget Sound Christmas Meeting

50 tatted Christmas ornaments were presented to Dianna Stevens in a surprise ceremony in recognition of her contributions to the Tat_Chat list (namely, she found us our listserver and paid for it for several months!).

The presentation was made during lunchtime at the annual Christmas Party meeting of the Lacemakers of Puget Sound (thus all the food plates and people eating!). Well, that's the only time everyone was seated and ready to listen! Also, please keep in mind that our meetings take place in a building which is used for children's day-care during the week (thus the wall decorations).

Here are some pictures of the occasion:

Dianna, in purple reads her card before opening the small box in front of her. She still hasn't seen the big one yet! Seated next to her are Julie from Lacey to viewer's right, and Diana Remington to viewer's left (both are Tat_Chatters). Other Tat_Chatters: to the viewer's left from Diana Remington (around the table) are Lorri Ferguson, Bev Dillon, and Nancy Nilsson (sorry, never did get a shot of her pretty face... and she looked very pretty in Dianna Stevens' collar)

Dianna holds up Gail's (from Ottawa) ornament. Pat Stevens (the original Tat_Chatter :-)) has come closer to the group (standing in the black shirt with the cats on it). Visible in the far background is Julie Hendrick of Catchpin.

The ornaments, all laid out in what little space was not covered by people's plates!

This is our table-top Christmas tree with all the gifts assembled for the gift exchange. I wish you could see all the needlework tools (bobbins, shuttles, etc) which had been assembled on this tree, along with several balls of thread, and of course, the obligatory topper: a hedgehog! This original tree was made by a member of LPS named Loy.
