Comments: An excellent sounding soundboard of a very early R.E.M. gig. They play mostly their own songs, most of which would never be recorded for an album and some of them are actually quite good. The sound is very punkish, with some great, LOUD and extraordinary bass playing and slashing guitars. Bill's drumming is very powerful and Michael's voice is already distinctive and excellent in his vocals. This is an amazing snapshot of the band very early on and a great show in its own right!

Set List:

Just a Touch, Burning Down, Ha (We Get Paid For It), Shaking Through, (Don't Go Back To) Rockville, There She Goes Again, Permanent Vacation, Pretty Persuasion, That Beat, Mystery to Me, Carnival of Sorts (Box Cars), Rave On, Ages of You, I Can't Control Myself, Laughing, Romance, Chained to the Wall, Sitting Still, Wolves,Lower, Gardening at Night, 9-9, Windout, Radio Free Europe

Comments: An excellent show plagued by equipment problems that cause the guitar and vocals to cut out sometimes. The band is very powerful and fast and the songs have a real punky quality to them that makes it great. Michael sounds great and the band is very together. Almost every song is an original and they are all excellent. The great sound makes this one super enjoyable!
