Comments: The first of two secret gigs in London to promote the new Out of Time album. The band is billed as Bingo Hand Job and Michael, Mike, Bill and Peter take the names Reverend Bingo, Stinky, the Doc, and Raoul, respectively, although Mike and Michael argue over who gets to be called Stinky the duration of the shows. The shows are excellent, with old, new, and cover material being played. R.E.M. also backs up their friends on their songs, and these are very good. The intimate atmosphere is captured perfectly. One of my favorites!

Comments: Another intimate and small show in front of a crowd that seems more like a group of old friends. All of the new songs sound great, and the songs R.E.M. backs their friends up on sound really good too, especially Wire Train, and Say Hello, which Michael sings in a really nice voice. They are really having fun at the end, evidenced by their human beatbox version of Tom's Diner. Great show, this and the night before are personal favorites!
