The Who:Live 1965:
5th National Jazz and Blues Festival, Athletic Grounds, Richmond, England, August 6, 1965
Sound: Very good audience/soundboard?
Time: Approx. 20 Minutes
Set List:
Daddy Rolling Stone, I Can't Explain, My Generation, Anyway Anyhow Anywhere, Shout and Shimmy
Comments: A great and energetic set from The Who. I finally found the last two tracks from this show. Daddy Rolling Stone and I Can't Explain are loud, thunderous and exciting, while My Generation gets its first ever live treatment 3 months before it is recorded and released! It is quite different, with no stuttering, different backing vocals, and a different bass solo. A real treat and a great glimpse of early, energetic Who!
Live at Wembley Studios, West London, England, December 24, 1965
Sound: Very good soundboard
Time: Approx. 8 Minutes
Set List:
You Rang, Baby Don't You Do It, Jingle Bells
Comments: The Who's set for the Christmas edition of Ready Steady Go! You Rang is a powerful instrumental with amazing rolls from Keith and Baby Don't You Do It is typical of the way it sounded before its 1971 revival as a hard rocking tour de force.
