It is obvious--unless you landed here by accident--that you are looking to win an award. There are many floating around the Internet. Some are quite prestigious and hard to come by. Others are yours for merely signing a guest book and dropping a line of Email.
The House of Cats does not have "giveaway" or automatic awards. What we do have are strict criteria for awarding web sites--which seem to get more strict everyday due to the number of submissions we receive that utterly ignore our guidelines.

This award was created for one purpose:
To honor the serious webcrafter who possesses both skill and heart in such abundance that their sites are far and above the rest of the Internet.

If you have exceptional HTML and graphic art skills, and have used your talents to create a positive, uplifting web site; one that has substance and carries a clear message, you are eligible for consideration.
This is not another graphic for your trophy case.
If you merely surfed here--ignoring our site in your quest for yet another award--turn back now.
If you wish to win us over with your favorite sports team or race car--turn back now.
If your idea of making a positive statement for world good on the Internet is sharing the hottest thing in nail polish--turn back now!
If you think you will impress us by filling our Guestbook with your graphics, banners and midis, as one recent non-winner did--turn back now!
Such submissions are like trying to teach a cat to sing--it doesn't work and irritates the living hell out of the cat!
Finally, and most importantly: if you don't approve of Paganism, Wicca, Witchcraft and Earth-based religions--turn back now!

Temple of Bast Award of Excellence

As the name implies, this is an award created for those who have

clearly demonstrated excellence
in HTML and graphic design.

It is limited to those sites that are operated by the same individual who designed them. It is solely for sites and webcrafters who demonstrate sophistication, superior design, vision, imagination, creativity and substance.
Please take a few moments to visit our winners. Examine their sites and see if your work is in their league.
If it is, in an email, give us your:

Site URL, Site title, Email address and name.

Include:a few paragraphs describing your site, why you decided to create it and what sets it apart from the average web site. Take your time with this one. Your description of your work is equally important as what we find when we visit your site.
Do not send us just your URL, "I want your award," OR "my site's just so cool" email.
Such submissions will be ignored.
Take a look at this example of the perfect submission letter from one of our winners.
This is open to any site on the web that does not contain objectionable adult material OR links to sites containing such material.
Similarly, other things that will make a site NOT eligible include:
1) if it is dark or negative in nature,
2) contains foul, suggestive, or insulting language, or nudity
3) contains only links or is composed mostly of links,
4) predominately or solely text in nature,
5) contains broken links of any kind,
6) is an "all about me" page,
7) has bad or poorly done midis,
8) lacks any meaningful substance,
9) or, is "Under Construction."

If ANY of these apply to your site, this award is not for you.
