Bast Oils:

When making oils for massage, it is best to make only a small amount--sufficient for the task at hand. Thus the freshness of the ingredients is assured. Mix ingredients in a small glass or ceramic altar bowl. Warm slightly before applying.
Bath oils, on the other hand, can be made in larger portions if stored in airtight, dark glass containers, and kept away from light and heat.

Relaxation
3 tsp sweet almond oil
1 drop lavender oil
1 drop rose oil
1 drop bergamont oil
This formula is especially good for massaging into tired feet, or at the temples for stress headaches.

Refresh
3 tsp grapeseed oil
1 drop lemon, lemon verbena, or lemongrass oil
1 drop lime oil
1 drop neroli oil
1 drop tea tree oil
This formula is delightful after a hot shower or bath, for itchy winter skin, or to lift your spirits any time.

Purification
3 tsp grapeseed oil
2 tsp sweet almond oil
1 drop patchouli oil
1 drop white jasmine oil
1 drop frankincense
1 drop sandalwood oil
This formula can be used in magic ritual, for anointing candles, yourself, or other sacred objects.

Bast and Ptah
3 Tbps jojoba oil
1 Tbps sweet almond oil
1 drop ginger oil
1 drop black pepper oil
1 drop patchouli oil
1 drop ylang-ylang oil
1 drop rose oil
This is a very special blend for occasions when the Great Rite is celebrated.

Any of these formulas can be used as bath oils by adding one part of the formula to three parts of a base oil such as sweet almond, jojoba, or grapeseed oil.
A light body spray can be created by using 1 teaspoon of any of the formulas mixed with 1/2 cup spring water. Pour into a small spray bottle. Shake well. Spraying lightly on skin and hair makes for a refreshing and cooling break, especially in summer.
