Book Review 4
Astrology of the Seers by David Frawley
This is the best book on the system of Vedic astrology for the beginner student and newcomer to Hindu astrology. The excellent rating is not high enough for this book as it contains the best description of the planets I have ever read.
Everything that needs to be known about our system is in this book plus the relationship of Vedic astrology to both Yoga and Ayurvedic medicine. This book captures the essence of traditional Hindu astrology better than any other available and is the perfect starting point for the new student to this vast science that is Vedic astrology.
Anything written by David Frawley is worth spending your money on because it is written by somebody whose words reveal his wisdom. This book gives no simplistic cookbook formulas but strives to explain the principals of Vedic astrology in a clear and meaningful manner.
Many people when becoming interested in Vedic astrology are a bit in awe of the seemingly complicated system that is Jyotish. My advice is read this book first and many of your fears will be gone as the author demystifies much of what seems overly confusing.
There is also a very detailed section on gems and remedial measures which contains much material not easily found anywhere.
I re-read this book regularly which is unusual for me. The section on the planets can be read many times with new insights gained with every new read. This is the sign of a great book!!
