Head Coach: Steve Spurrier

28-8 for 1990-92, with 1 SEC Title & 2 bowl teams

The Gators won the East Division of the SEC, then lost to

unbeaten National Champs Alabama 28-21 in the 1st ever

SEC Playoff Title Game.   The Gators (8-4) beat the favored

North Carolina State (9-2-1) 27-10 in a foggy Gator Bowl.

Senior quarterback Shane Matthews passed for 247 yds.

and 2 TD'd (to Willie Jackson & Harrison Houston) and ran

in for another.   Errict Rhett ran for 182 yrds. and sophmore

kicker, Judd Davis, had 2 FG's.   The Gators finished the

year 9-4, with #10 (AP) & #11 (UPI) national rankings.

Gator Bowl Hall of Fame

Steve Spurrier was inducted into the Gator Bowl Hall of Fame.

His 27-10 victory over North Carolina State in 1992 was

his only appearance there as a player or a coach.

which Edward H. White was the first American to walk in

space. His maneuver of the Extra Vehicular Activity (EVA)

was the first to utilize a hand held self-propulsion unit

(HHMU) allowing him to move about freely. During his

space walk, Ed White lost his glove, sending it into orbit,

making it the most famous piece of space junk, ever...
