Queen Hedwig Eleonora's bedchamber
Queen Hedwig Eleonora's bedchamber was one of the first rooms
in the new palace, some of the palace oldest work of arts belong
to this room. The court painter David Ehrenstrahl created a painting of the queen, which
hangs in this room. In this painting the guardian government of
Carl XI is celebrated, with queen Hedwig Eleonora as the grandest
of them all (she was the chairman, but in reality she nearly didn't
have any power at all, the power was in the hand of count de la
Gardie).
