I was given the name LaughingEyes by a friend. My name is Tara Barrett. I'm 27 years old & am 1/32 Cherokee on my father's side
and a little Cherokee on my mother's side (about 1/128). I was raised in St Louis County, Missouri & still reside in MO. I have an active interest in
Native American (American Indian) history & culture. I am not enrolled in the Cherokee tribe as my ancestors were Eastern Cherokee and did not enroll. Though there
is some thought that my Barnes line was included on the 1832 Cherokee census.
I started this page in my pursuit of learning & I hope that these pages enhance ones knowledge whether you are Native or not. The web has brought this culture an amazing outlet to preserve a history others wished to
