The Great Creator Yowah has made it
possible for The First International church of Christian Yoga/Denise's Cherokee Maiden webpages
to have a great victory in saving this beautiful wetland area. City hall finally voted 4 for and
4 against rezoning, which defeated the resolution. Let our war cry sound, "Let us take back the
land!" Now the water birds and other animals are safe. The trees are also rejoicing.

In Oct., 1977, the native people, the original residents of much of the world, presented a statement to the rest of the planet at
the United Nations building in Geneva. Grandfather David, the oldest Hopi at 103, came up with a handful of white cornmeal,
sprinkling a little to each of the four winds. The meeting was four days long, there were 35 Indian nations represented. They
pleaded for their existence before the community of nations, and for those who have no voice- the four legged ones, the winged
ones, the ones that swim, the ones with roots. They pointed out that they had a representative form of government when the
white men came to the shore, all of whom were representing monarchies- that they were an older civilization, and they did not
consider themselves to be underdeveloped. They lived in a caring relationship with the universe. They consider themselves to be
the "protectors of life as it was entrusted to us by our creator." They spoke of the barbarity of the decadent European
civilization, about being considered wards of the government of the United States, about being hunted like antelopes in the
jungles of South America. They spoke of recognizing all the cultures of man as part of God's great pattern, yet remaining to
their ways that the pattern might remain complete. Their presentation was very polite, and very forgiving, and they were very
gentle in their presentation before the community of man, considering what had been done to them and what is still being done.
They talked about the multinational corporations and about how corporations owe no allegiance to any culture, society or state
of morals whatever, and they move in on indigenous peoples all over the world and rip them off their land, rip them off their
labor, rip them off their lives. Rip them off their civilization, rip them off their religion, without anyone being able to say anything
about it. This fight goes on, in the sacred Black Hills of Dakota, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, in the traditional lands of
the Six Nation Confederacy and in many other places. We should open our hearts and hear the words of these people of the
Earth, who come from sovereign nations, who have been forced to surrender, who have been moved to the concentration
camps we call reservations.
The constitution of the United States was designed as a protection against tyranny. But as it was only a framework, any number
of different systems of government might have evolved from it. At first, only a privileged class -white male landowners- were
allowed to vote. What the founding fathers failed to see was the emergence of a new kind of player, the multi-billion dollar
corporations. The system of government we have ended up with is government for hire. In their greed and through their political
power which they have purchased, the corporations push our sacred Mother Earth and her inhabitants ever closer to the brink,
exterminating whole species of plants and animals along the way, leaving behind a new trail of tears from which we will not be
able to recover. If you believe in the transmigration of the soul, or reincarnation, or if you care about the quality of life of your
grandchildren, then remember it is we, or they, who will have to inhabit this Earth in the future.

This is Andrew Jackson who appears on the $20 bill. He ignored the judgement of the Supreme Court and forced the removal of thousands of Cherokees during the infamous trail of tears. Thousands suffered and died. If there ever was a president who should have been impeached it was him. It is a disgrace to our nation that he should appear on our currency. Please sign the statement below to have him removed and Email to your legislators.
We the undersigned hereby petition the government of the United States, asking that the image of the criminal Andrew Jackson be removed from our currency.
This is the great Chief John Ross, who resisted Jackson's evil in every way he knew how.
I have seen that many of my Cherokee brothers and sisters feel that they have lost their heritage, culture and religion. My purpose in creating this web page is to offer new hope and pride in being a Cherokee Indian. Never surrender! May the peaceful, loving, healing Divine light of the Great Spirit be yours for all of your days.

A Message To The World
From The Echota Cherokee Tribe Of Alabama
You Are My Sister - You Are My Brother
You are my sister, you are my brother because we were
born of the
same Great Spirit; conceived from the same mound of
Earth - slept
quietly together in the cradle of unknowing until He,
in His
gentleness set us in the midst of humanity ...You are
my sister,
You are my brother ...I Love You.
You and I are destined to be companions on the path of
life ...
Together or apart. If the color of my skin is
different from
yours, it matters not, only let the beauty of our
souls be
kindred ...You are my sister, You are my brother ...I
Love You.
I will honor your wisdom and understanding, as you
will mine.
Together we shall seek the seeds of truth in the
distant rooms of
the Great Spirit; the reflection of inner knowledge
shall wear as
beauty upon our faces ...You are my sister, You are my
brother
...I Love You.
I will be human and fall down in rough places, but thy
hand is
near mine... I will reach for it ... I shall not be
alone, I will
embrace you when the rains of sorrow visit you; I will
befriend
your soul as if it my own, You are my sister, You are
my brother
...I Love You
And finally a message from Ted:
I have seen the words of my brothers who feel that because the sacred fires no longer burn, because the great turtle drum is lost, and because our way of life is all but gone that all is lost. Please do not feel this way. Know that we still have what is most important, we have each other. With every thoughtful and caring word, deed, or prayer that we give to each other and to Mother Earth we help in our own way to keep the Spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood alive. The only true reality is within. True peace, joy and wisdom are all from within, and not from without. True freedom comes from rightly knowing and understanding the nature of oneself and the nature of the world in which we live, which is the world of duality. Look to the Great Spirit which is within, for we are not just a reflection of this Spirit, but indeed we are a part of this Spirit. Our consciousness is a part of God's consciousness, only trapped for a few cosmic moments in the prison of the three bodies. Someday we shall merge again in the tranquil sea of oneness with our Great Spirit Father, and realize that this existance was only a dream of our creator. Have hope! In Divine love for you all, Ted Robert Self.
