The northern Himalayan crags near Badrinarayan are still blessed by the living presence of Babaji, guru of Lahiri Mahasaya. The deathless Babaji is an Avatar who has retained his physical form for centuries. He is said to be the reincarnation of Krishna, who is extolled in the Bhagavad Gita, (Yoganandas' commentaries on the Gita are available from Self Realization Fellowship, http://www.yogananda-srf.org). Babaji has stated that he gave yoga initiation to Shankara, (reorganizer of the swami order) and to Kabir, famous medieval master. Babaji is ever in communion with Christ; together they send out vibrations of redemption and have planned the spiritual technique of salvation for this age. The work of these two fully illuminated masters is to inspire the nations to forsake wars, race hatreds, religious sectarianism, and the boomerang evils of materialism. Babaji has revived the ancient science of kriya yoga, which had been lost during the age of Kali. (Dark ages). Paramahansa Yogananda brought kriya to the west, saying, "meditate whenever you can, practice kriya yoga. Jesus said he would send the comforter-the Holy Ghost. When you are in tune with its vibration, (OM), you feel the bliss of God as omnipresent Christ consciousness. "

Lahiri Mahasaya (1828-1895) initiated Sri Yukteswar (1855-1936) who initiated Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952). Sri Yukteswar was asked by Babaji to write a book showing the essential unity of original Christianity as taught by Jesus Christ and original Yoga as taught by Bhagavan Krishna. This book (The Holy Science) is available from Self Realization Fellowship. Sri Yukteswar also throws in some interesting Oriental astrology. According to Sri Yukteswar, our sun is revolving now toward the grand center of our universe, having just exited the age of Kali yuga and entering the age known as Dwapara yuga. Thus we are not in the age of Aquarius, (which occurs in Satya yuga) but the age of virgo. As we advance toward the grand center, dharma, the mental virtue, begins to develope. Thus we are now beginning to comprehend the electricities and their attributes. After 2,400 years in Dwapara we shall enter Treta Yuga, then being able to comprehend Divine magnetism. (I suspect then we will be able to travel at the speed of light). After 3,600 years of Treta we will enter the Satya yuga, when human intellect can comprehend all, even God. (I suspect we will be able to travel at the speed of thought). So to those who say the world is about to come to an end, or UFOs are about to visit and bring the ascension, I say thee nay.
Yogananda says that the eternal consciousness behind all creation is that of God the Father. The Son or Christ intelligence is hidden in the Holy Ghost, (the invisible creative power of Om). Any time your consciousness is attuned to divine realization, Christ will take birth anew in the cradle of your awakened soul perceptions.
