![]() | What the CD-booklet says: Johnny O'Keefe was Australia's first rockstar. "The Wild One" was his first hit in 1958 and also became his nickname. It was Australia's first rock'n'roll hit record. His career spans over 20 years, in which he recorded over 50 singles, 45 EPs and more than 50 LPs. He had a TV show, toured the USA three times and performed in every corner of Australia. Surviving several nervous breakdowns and a serious car accident, his nickname was well deserved. The song has been recorded by many international artists, and is perhaps best known in the version by Iggy Pop. What I think of this song: When I first heard this song, I immediately thought of Iggy Pop and was surprised to find it on this CD. It's a nice piece of rockabilly music. Not pretending to be anything more than a nice song, I really like it. |
