![]() | What the CD-booklet says: Just as the Beatles ushered in a new era for British rock, the brash young Easybeats gave Australian music a new identity and confidence, setting it on the road to international acceptance. The Easybeats dished up a vital, urgent music of considerable integrity In doing so they left an indelible imprint upon the minds and hearts of devotees throughout the world. "She's so fine" was the first hit ofr the band, reaching number one in mid-1965. By the time they departed for England a year later, the band had racked up 8 smash hits. What I think of this song: The Easybeats are best known for "Friday on My Mind" a sixties classic that has been played too much on radio for it's own good. "She's so fine" is less known and therefore sounds more refreshing. They were one of the better and commercially successful sixties bands. This song shows why. It is catchy and yet it doesn't sound as a commercial sell-out. Very good. Of course the main importance of the Easybeats is that bandmember George Young had two younger brothers who had a band called AC/DC, for which he did some producing. |
