Australian Rock'n'Roll stamps #9

the Master Apprentices - Turn up your radio

What the CD-booklet says:
Over more than 7 turbulent years the assertive, stylish Master Apprentices gave Australian rock an edge of true quality. Their original recorded output (14 singles, 3 EPs, 5 LPs) actually provides a chronology of rock's growth during the era - tracking the path from raw white rhythm and blues-tinged rock, through psychedelia, 'head' music, heavy metal, to free-form experimentation. The Masters were a cornerstone for what would become recognised as "the Australian sound" and their classic hits sound as fresh and invigorating now as they did in the late '60s and early '70s.
What I think of this song:
This is a well accomplished song, that is not as original or timeless as the booklet wants us to believe. It is a bit out of fashion style of art-rock that has had little following. Nevertheless, I like the song, although I can't hear anything typical Australian in it.
