Welcome to the Letters Page,
everybody! Let me take a second to mention the updated AC Comics
web site, now featuring a great webshop offering
almost 500 comics from their backlist, including almost 3,000 pages of
high-quality Golden Age reprints. The site and the comics are highly recommended.
Now, on with the letters:
Hi Bill. Another great issue!
I really enjoy the space-themed stories only second to the costumed mysterymen. In all honesty
the space heroes are just costume types set in a space setting for the most part. This really
rings true for Brad Spencer who evolved from a costumed hero to an outer-space hero. I must thank
Richard who gave me a run down on Brad, and his very interesting history (he will be featured sooner
or later on our site). I hope to see more "specials" of this
type, and any western characters you might have; they are my third favorite. But whatever you decide,
I'll be reading. Thanks for another fun-filled issue.
Take care,
Darrin
Darrin, I will see what I can do about
featuring some western characters in the not-to-distant future. Glad to hear you enjoyed
the sci-fi special. (Everyone is urged to check out Richard and Darrin's web site
The Good Guys and Gals of the Golden Age Art Gallery,
an invaluable resource for profiles of Golden Age characters!)
Excuse my English.
Your page is wonderful. The idea of publishing, in the complete, old histories
of the comics, deserves applauses.
Cordially,
Jose Pinto de Queiroz Filho
Jose, I am happy that you
enjoy my homepage. It is nice to hear from people from other countries who enjoy
the comics of the Golden Age. Everyone should check out Jose's web site at
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Lot/9752.
That's it for the letters
page this month. Be sure to check back next month for three more great reprints!
And remember, my fourth CD-ROM will be available very soon! [Editor's Note: it is now available!] It's basically done
but needs a final proofreading. Also, I'm having my rugs restretched in a couple
of days, so I need to remove everything from the computer room (what my wife refers to
as the "living room") and I won't have a chance to burn any CDs for a few days.
See you next month!

In the gallery this month is Exciting Comics No. 22, featuring the
first appearance of the American Eagle in that title. This is just a shameless
way of promoting my new CD-ROM, of course, even tho' I don't own this comic and
the American Eagle story from it is NOT on my new CD! This comic featured the
origin of the American Eagle's sidekick, the Eaglet!
