The Library was constructed in the late 19th century in the area of Emperor Nicholas II's private rooms. The interior is designed (by architect Alexander Krasovsky) in the style of English Gothic and its walnut furnishings were made in 1894 at the Furniture Factory in St. Petersburg. The panel created from stamped and gilt leather, the monumental fireplace and high windows reproduce the romantic atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
