Congratulations is in order to Mrs. Weston and all the staff on being awarded Beacon Status!
This is a top national award and means that the school will act as a pacesetter and centre of excellence from which other schools can learn.
Well Done!

Extracts form the last newsletter of the academic year 1999/2000
It is hard to believe the academic year is fast drawing to a close. This academic year has been a very successful one; however, as I write I have mixed feelings.
Firstly we say goodbye to Miss Martin, Mrs. Ashman and Mrs. Parker. They are all leaving for the very best of reasons, but we will miss them greatly, although we wish them every success and much happiness. They will always be friends of our school.
Change is not easy to accept but I am delighted to say we will have a full compliment of staff next term and it will be exciting to see the new team working together.
Next academic year we hope to encourage children to bring fresh fruit into school to eat at morning break. If you would like your son/daughter to have a piece of fruit to eat they may have any fruit but please if it is an orange or satsuma etc., please peel it for them.
Next year school dinner will cost £1.25 per day. Mrs. S Body is our new Cook and she is doing a splendid job, please remember if your child wishes to swap from school dinners to sandwiches or vice versa a weeks notice is far more helpful than one day! Cook does have to plan and order food in advance. Please help all of us in school by remembering this.
Thank you for joining us for sports morning. I hope you have seen the photographs in the local paper reporting on last week's event.
Recently Cuxton seems to have featured highly in the local press with School Fete photographs too.
School class photographs are ready at a cost of £7.50, please make cheques payable to Photo Memories' if you wish to purchase one. Mr. Collen has produced some lovely photographs.
Finally a reminder that children can have milk in school on a daily basis. For more information please call at the school office for details.
My sincerest thanks to all of you for your support of our school.
The staff and I hope you have a really good summer holiday.
We look forward to seeing the children back at school on Wednesday 6 September 2000, at 8.45am. The staff will be back for two development days on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 September 2000.
NB
