Main artillery: Four 10,5 cm. K.331(f)
Ready for battle: March 1943
The battery was located on the shores of the Sognefjord, further in than
those that were guarding the mouth of the fjord. It was meant to secure the entrance to the
Vadheimsfjord, a side arm of the Sognefjord. Built by German personnel. There are only bunkers and
no tunnels at the site. Every gunposition had two bunkers, one for sheltering and one for ammunition
storage. The 'leitstand' was built by the same standard as the one at
HKB 13./981 Lammetun.
Today a summerhouse has been built on top of the bunker, making it a very solid basement.
In February 1945, the battery was moved to Flostaøya outside Arendal in Norway. All the
mines and barracks were left. Much of the site today is on private land, but all the positions
are still there. One of the shelters is today a toilet, and another is a storage for garden equipment.
A machine gun post is situated just by the road, making it easy to see if you are looking for it.
A bit overgrown, but still easy to see all the objects.
