ISTANA JAHAR
Istana Jahar was built in 1887 during the reign of Sultan Ahmad (1886-1889) for his son Long Kundur who succeeded him as Sultan Muhammad lIl (1889-1890) as a wedding gift. Its design is a blend of traditional Kelantanese and Georgian architectures and it boasts a number of beautifully carved panels and iron-grills. At Istana Jahar one can nostalgically feel the grandeur of Kelantan Traditional Royal Ceremonies which were held on auspicious occasions under royal patronage before 1944.
