Submission Guidelines
Want to be a part of Mythos Online?
Written Submissions
All material to be submitted via e-mail to johnsilence@geocities.com in RTF format preferably as it preserves formatting features made in your work. If your PC or Mac does not support this format then by all means send your submission in any of the following program formats: Word; Works; or simple Plain Text. Please remember to include details of any formatting features such as bold, italics, etc. Also, if you would prefer, I am happy to accept work in submitted in HTML.
Artistic Submissions
Mythos Online is always on the lookout for talented artists. I must point out that I only really need work for illustrating the tales and poetry in the fanzine. If you are not put off by this, feel free to send samples of your work to me. I prefer GIF, JPG, or ProJPG formats.
Links
Seen a link you feel should be on the links page? Send details to me, I will view the site and then decide whether to add it or not. There is no guarantee a site will be added.
General
I will happily consider poetry, short and novella length stories. Anything more substantial will be taken under consideration, if I feel it merits publication then I will serialize it if the author is agreeable. As for the issue of profanity in submissions - I will judge it on the following criteria:
Is it accurate to the tales choronology?
Can the integrity or mood of the story be maintained without it?
Is it a realistic character response, or simply gratuitous?
Does it 'feel' right?
Please don't be discouraged from submitting, or comitting yourself to extensive re-writing until you have sent the tale to me and I have given you an answer. I must include this guideline in case I have to justify the content of the site to the host.
Please be patient! I will try mu utmost best to evaluate any submission as soon as I can and respond.
Mythos Online - above all else - is a labour of love and can sometimes, unfortunately, fall behind schedule due to any number of things. The latest issues will be posted when they are prepared. Please, bear with me. I always try to update regularly every month.

There is another benefit to submitting to the following places:
Nightscapes: E-Mail: Edward P. Berglund
The Innsmouth Archive: E-Mail: Ron Shiflet
I betimes publish a small-press fanzine - Al-Azif - and good work may well find the author offered a place within. The editors of the above sites are occassional Associate Editors and keep me informed of submissions for possible inclusion. I also do the same for Ron Shiflet's own small-press fanzine - Dark Legacy.
I am always glad to receive your hard work. Don't feel disheartened by any of the above as I am always open to discussion.
