This is an absolutely fabulous book, and I truly beleive that the Golden Compass and its sequel are Philip Pullman's best works yet. This story is both fantastical and realistic, with a great plot line and the most creativity (as far as inventing certain elelments of a book) I've ever seen. Lyra is a lovable heroin, and all the elements of the book are entirerly credible. This is the book that made Philip Pullman my favorite author.
