The monastery in Kalishta

Near the village of Kalishta is placed a monastery complex with church dedicated to Holy Mother of God, monastery's houses (konacs) and one new church, builded following the old tradition.The church of Holy Mother of God is a cave-church, placed on a cliff near the lake.This small church was builded in the 15^th century.About 100 m. from the Monastery of Kalishta there is another cave-church, which is dedicated to St.Athanasius.This church was builded in 14^th century.You can reach this church by stone stairs, builded in present time.

The Monastery of Kalishta with its surroundings is wonderful.There is also 2-3 modern hotels.

In the vicinity of Kalishta is placed the village of Radozda, with its cave-church St.Archangel Michael, builded on a high cliff,in the 13^th century.
