The Monastery of St.Naum

The Monastery of St.Naum(Nahum) was builded by St.Naum (Nahum) in 9th century.The monastery, which was dedicated to St.Archangel Michael, is placed on a steep cliff above the Lake Ohrid, 30 km south from the town of Ohrid.In this monastery lived and worked St.Naum.His tomb is placed in this church.To-day's view of the monastery date from the 17th century.Only some parts of the old monastery is preserved.

In the vicinity of the Monastery of St.Naum(Nahum) are located the sources of the Black Drim River (Tsrn Drim).This river pass through the Lake Ohrid all the way from its springs, emerges again from the lake in Struga.The area of St.Naum with the springs of the Black Drim River and with the Monastery of St.Naum, is real heaven on Earth.
