Goyzha
Photo taken in March 1993
Snow covered Goyzha mountain in Sylaimany. This is the eastern part of the city of more than one million people. No single person had any freedom under Iraqi regime.
Kurdish people are free and they want to live independently without being under any rulers.
There are more than five million Kurds in north Iraq , "South Kurdistan", which has been occupied by Iraq since its creation after the World War One by Britain and France. When the Ottoman empire collapsed, the latest Islamic empire or Ottoman empire lost control in the entire middle east region including Kurdistan.
In this unfair and unjustified land divisions regardless of nationalities, Britain and France divided Kurdistan into four parts and gave each part to a newly created states of Turkey, Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
