The Palace of the Republic Gallery
The Gallery of the palace situated in
the 2nd and 3rd floor presented important/significant artists
of the DDR, such as Willi Sitte, Werner Tübke, Walter Womacka,
Arno Mohr and Lothar Zitzmann - whose painting can be seen on
the right side of the picture."
Even though he styles and topics vary,
all these works form a reference to the original purpose of the
palace: to be a house of / for the people
Within all the years after initiation/opening
of the palacethe gallery used to be a point of attraction for
the audience - even for those who were neither interested in arts
nor in the DDR in general.
