Instituted on December 17, 1972,
the order was established to commemorate the 50th Anniversary
of the founding of the USSR. It was awarded for governmental,
economic, military, cultural, or scientific achievement, or developing
international friendship and cooperation. Made of Gold, Silver,
and green, white, red, and blue enamel, the order is made from
four pieces and various parts are gold-plated.
