From Entropy To Ecstacy is a
novel set in Albania in the years following
World War II. It is the story of the Lieutenant, a psychotic,
out-of-controll sadist who belongs to the Sigurimi, the secret
police
cleaning up the country of "counterrevolutionaries" and
"infernal traitors".
With his sidekick, Sgt. Toptani and his dog, Gjergj, the
lieutenant embarks
on an insane killing spree in wich several people are tortured,
raped
and/or murdered. The Lieutenant continues his murderous rampage
in
secret before he meets up with a peasant girl named, Dominika,
whom
he falls in love with, following a sexual encounter in a secluded
field.
"From entropy to ecstacy" has two recurring themes: we
remake our
identities to accommondate forces beyond our control, and that to
change society you must first change yourself.
