School of shame
School of shame starts off with an eight minute concert sequence shot in the summer of ´84 at a club called 8 BC. The band consists of Lydia Lunch, Pat Place and Kim Gordon all playing guitars onstage, shot from skewed diagonal angles. Then a series of shots taken off the TV, as James Richardson, an actor with broken teeth, changes the channels, mugging gloriously. Then two films Zedd made in 1976 or ´77 when he lived in Bedford Stuyesant, Brooklyn, one of wich Zedd briefly appear in, are intercut with footage Zedd shot at Coney Island in 84` including a victim of Downs Syndrome enjoying a spinning amusement park ride. In one of the short films from 77´, a girl is kidnapped by two goons and raped by an armadillo. She then castrates a fat geek named Biker Bill. Included is also an interview with Donna Death, Richard Hell and Brenda Bergman on The Joe Franklin TV show in 1983, a syndicated program that reached millions. For some reason Nick Zedd´s name was never mentioned by the two starlets, who were appearing on the telecast to promote the movie "Geek Maggot Bingo".
