"The most obscene film ever made..."
I fear Zedd, in his non-stop
effort at transcending taboos, may have gone
too far. If this film doesnīt land him in jail, I donīt know
what will. The
first print was already seized by the Canadian police back in May
(ī88),
preventing itīs inclusion into the Shock Art Festival in
Montreal, and
Zedd narrowly escaped arrest when he showed WHOREGASM in
Tompkins squrare Park this summer (ī88) to an audience of
winos and beggars who got so excited they performed a circle jerk
in front of the bandshell. I have to admit I got a hard-on myself
watching Susan Mansonīs tatoos wiggle as she sucked Zeddīs pud.
Whoregasm commences with a barrage of har core fucking cut
togheter in such a way as to reduce the act to a series of
mechanical
processes, emphasizing the machine like nature of eroticism in a
hideous manner reminiscent of a pumping piston engine.
Fucking really is an utterly hideous act and in WHOREGASM
the nakedly mechanical nature of the event is exposed in all its
brutal salaciousness, like open heart surgery, Zedd intercuts
this footage
with solarized horses, shots of an ugly cop, intergalactic
explosions and
subliminal messages buried throughout. The net result being that
I
felt "enlightened" after seeing it but I donīt know
why. What
subversive ideas did Zedd secretly impact in my brain via these
subliminal statements? It worries me still. I feel raped.
