To begin COMBAT , simply type !COMBAT in channel and the routine will start.
NB From then on, all commands to Sentry should be via Sentry's /msg (/query) window.
You will be asked firstly whether you want to see this instruction text.
type ! TEXT and it will be downloaded to you.
To start COMBAT type !BEGIN
If you don't want to start the contest at this time then type !QUIT
The program is based on
1/. A set of statistics inputted to Sentry
, setting out the users STRENGTH / STAMINA / FITNESS. All three stats
have a bearing on the eventual outcome of the combat.
These are input via /msg (/query) to Sentry
prior to combat.
20 points are available , which can be distributed between the three categories.
To Input your STRENGTH stat
type !STR<space><your stat here>
(determines the power with which you wield
your sword)
To Input your STAMINA stat
type !STA<space><your stat here>
(a measure of how long you can fight at full
fitness, and your ability to cope with injury)
To Input your FITNESS stat
type !FIT<space><your stat here>
(how fast can you move your shield to defend
vital areas)
Each stat must be typed on a separate line.
When you have entered all three , type !GO
Additionally, Sentry gives all the necessary
information in messages to you online.
2/. A set of Attack/ Defence manoeuvres, inputted to Sentry via your /msg (/query) window.
Sentry will prompt you for your responses.
The Attacks/ Defences are based on telling
Sentry which parts of the body you are attacking and which areas of your
own body you are defending.

When prompted by Sentry , use the format :
Please remember we are dealing with computers here, which are very unforgiving if an input is not exactly as laid out as the program expects.( ie. Don't forget the '!' or the space)
3/. A response from Sentry who will generate her own set of Attack / Defence moves.
The outcome of each move will appear in channel, along with any injuries received on either side.
Sentry will continue to prompt you for your
input until either you or she has received critical injuries.
