The main problem online Goreans have with the channel seems to be the policy
of "NO MALES", the Gorean Master cannot abide being barred from anywhere!
They would seem also to have a big problem with reading English! Below,
is reproduced a letter written by suzi{T} to the Gorean Times in May 1998,a
letter which was obviously not published, but sees the light of day , here
on the
website.
A word of the channel’s background might help explain matters.
Yes, we ARE lesbian and bisexual girls/women. But , like it or not , we are also Gorean, and like most Masters/Mistresses and their slaves, we travelled Gor, attending the many fine Taverns to be found. The story was always the same.......Masters mauling this girl and constantly attempting to enslave Her Mistress. We understand , that the very nature of Gor makes that a fact of life, but irritates after a while, when all we wanted was to be left in peace.
Mistress Tanya is more than capable of defending Herself and Her property, this humble slave, but even the great Bear_ in Silk & Steel would not afford Her the courtesy of allowing Her to do that.......(did they have kick /ban on Gor?).
The only answer seemed to create a Gorean channel where women in the same position as us were welcome and were not constantly hassled by the Gorean Master. Thus #bifemGor was born.
The channel was never intended to threaten online Gor, yet it, and its descendent, #Gorean_Panthergirls, seems to be a thorn in the side of many.
Two very disparaging letters in a recent issue of the Gorean Times, the creation of a clone channel #Gorean^Panthergirls ( where the owner openly admits to calling the Mistresses here, “bull dykes”, and is ofcourse inaccurate) and new channels formed, using their topics to insult us even further, are just some of the examples of harassment we have had to endure.
But endure them we will, and continue to be a channel that welcomes Freewomen and slaves , and allows them to be themselves in comfort and safety. Our Sentries are very capable, and will not admit Males at all! (A Master can always identify as slave , or Freewoman to gain admittance, but surely that would constitute a dishonourable act, of which , surely , no true Gorean is capable.)
The charge of “not being by the books”, is of course a fair criticism, as there is no evidence that any Panthergirls were lesbians. It suits the male ego to believe that they hungered constantly for a male, and no doubt it was Norman’s intention to portray them like this.
However, in recreating Gor in an Earthly IRC format, many adaptations have to be made , some channels “adapting “ more than others. All we at bifemGor have done, is adapt the books to include lesbian/bisexual women. In much the same way as NKZ are declared, BOTS serve and give in-channel information, slaves use cut and paste or worse “popups” (a thing that this girl would never dream of doing, nor Her Mistress accepting) and other “ non-book” adaptations.
We do not expect to be embraced with open arms by the online Gorean community, but please, a girl begs for a little tolerance.
Finally a girl would beg to respectfully remind Goreans, Gor does not belong to any individual, or any IRC channel, but it is a philosophy, a way of life which belongs to us all."
