| Prayers of the World Enlighten our Chakras |
|
The following are a series of prayers that we used at public programmes and seminars to awaken the kundalini. The prayers are taken from Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and one is unique to Sahaja Yoga. There are recited in Sanskrit, Hebrew, Arabic, English, and Pali. Following are the prayers and their purpose followed by an explanation of their meanings. Enjoy!
The Prayers
1) Mantra to Shri Ganesha to Awaken Mooladhara chakra. This prayer is from Hinduism.
Om Twameva Sakshat Shri Ganesha Sakshat Shri Adi Shakti Mataji Shri Nirmala Devi Namo Namah.
Recited four times
2) Shema to unite the kundalini (Shekhinah) and the spirit(Tiferet). This Prayer is from Judaism.
Shema Yisrael Adonie Elohaynu Adonie Echad
3) Allah Hu Akbar sixteen times to Awaken Vishuddhi Chakra. This prayer is from Islam
Allah Hu Akbar
Recited sixteen times with the forefingers in the ears, looking up.
4) Buddham Prayer to Reduce the Ego. This prayer is from Buddhism.

Dhamam Sharanam Gachami,
Sangham Sharanam Gachami
4) The Lords Prayer to Open the Agnya Chakra. This prayer is from Christianity.
Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
5) Sahasrara Mantra to Open the Sahasrara. This prayer is from Sahaja Yoga.
Om Twameva Sakshat Shri Nirmala Devi Namo Namah.
Recited seven times.
The Meanings of the Prayers
1) Mantra to Shri Ganesha
Om (the sacred sound of vibrations) Twameva (verily) Sakshat (you are) Shri Ganesha (God as innocence) Sakshat (you are) Shri Adi Shakti Mataji (the primordial power of God) Shri Nirmala Devi (the pure one) Namo Namah (salutations to you).

Traditional Meaning: Hear oh Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. |

The Subtle Meaning: "Lift up your eyes oh realized souls, our Father and Mother are one, All is one" |

4) Buddham Prayer:

Buddham Sharanam Gachami: I surrender to my enlightened awareness |

Dhamam Sharanam Gachami: I surrender to my inner righteousness |

5) The Lords Prayer and Subtle Meaning by Leo Tolstoy
1. Our Father, Man is a son of God
2. Which art in Heaven, God is the infinite spiritual source of life.
3. Hallowed be Thy Name, May this source of life be held holy
4. Thy Kingdom come, May his power be realized in all men
