| Have you looked into Aphrodite's mirror lately? Venus-Aphrodite, Greco-Roman goddess of love and romance, is sensual and appreciative of beauty, especially her own. She can be a seeker of self-perfection and a prisoner of passion, filled with insatiable longing to possess or be possessed by her chosen target of affection. Perhaps it seems frivolous to think of cosmetics, clothing and flirtation in these times of global chaos, but some girls just want to have fun! Begin on Friday (Venus' day), at 7.00pm (Venus' hour). If the Sun and/or Moon is in the Venus-ruled signs Taurus or Libra, and the Moon is waxing, better still! (Though this is not necessary to continue). First, try this facial on for size. Warm some honey (Venus is fond of bees), mix it with mashed avocado (green is Venus' colour) and a dollap of plain yoghurt, and smear it over your face, neck and chest (tastes great too!) Next draw a romantic bath for one. Decorate your bathroom with pale green candles and a single red rose for atmosphere. (LK's note: I like to use pink candles sometimes) Run the bath, preferably as hot as you can comfortably stand it. Add to the bath water a mixture of myrtle and clover oil to honour Venus, one cup of sugar for sweetness, one cup of pink wine for heady intoxication, and a generous splash of sandalwood perfume for luxury. Get sky-clad, turn down the light, enter the tub, and let your imagination run wild. After you have bathed and washed off the avocado facial, dry your fair, and give the old hundred strokes hair-brushing routine a magickal twist. Let your hair hang down before you. Sweep a natural boar-bristle brush (LK's note - I just use a normal brush) from your scalp to the ends of your hair. Have your hand follow the brush as it works its way through. Focus your attention on your hand and imagine that you are impregnating your hair with power. Think, feel, and exude magnetic attraction into your hair with every stroke. Now, make yourself comfortable and take several deep, relaxing breaths. Surround yourself with vibrant green light and picture yourself beautiful. Really get into the image. This is who you are -- your magickal self -- and if you can visualise it, you can become it. Note what you might do to make the astral you a reality and affirm to do it! Finally, if you want, don some make-up (Aphrodite wouldn't be caught dead without it!), and dress to kill in your favourite come-hither fashions, including luscious lingerie. Wear emerald or turquoise jewelry, or an amulet made with these Venus stones for extra luck in love. Then head out for a night on the town and reflect Aphrodite's beauty right back at 'em! |
