When one defines oneself as Pagan, it means she or he follows an earth or nature religion, one that sees the divine manifest in all creation. The cycles of nature are our holy days, the earth is our temple, its plants and creatures our partners and teachers. We worship a deity that is both male and female, a mother Goddess and a father God, who together created all that is, was, or will be. We respect life, cherish the free will of sentient beings, and accept the sacredness of all creation.

As a pagan I love and honour the earth as Mother Goddess, celebrating her cycles and receiving her gifts with joy. I am a part of all life, seeing animals, people and plants as wonderful teachers and companions, and I treat all with respect.

I am an eclectic pagan, I borrow from all walks of life. Wicca is the main principle that I follow, but I also like to see the divinity and wisdom in all religions and incorporate those principles that resonate best with me, into my own belief system.

Pagans are mostly quite ordinary, coming from all walks of life. The popular image of flowing beards, nudity and woodland orgies does not fit the majority of pagans. I do not deny myself the room to rage, feel pain or anger, for these are all a part of us, and a part of nature. What I do deny myself, is the opportunity to
harm others while I feel like this. I direct myself to creative outlets and positive ways to express these feelings that are generally deemed "negative" in modern society. I like to write, draw, sculpt, swim, walk, ride a bicycle, garden, dance, meditate, listen to music or read when I am in these moods. Pagans seek the positive in all aspects, and the one rule that is universal is "Harm none" which is extremely far reaching when you think about it. Without winter there is no spring, without rain and grey clouds no blossom. There is anger as well as love, but anger does not destroy love - it can enrich it. Pagans are aware of both sides.
