| We each have a life-force energy which gives us our inner-power. This power is known to the Chinese as Chi, but can also be called Life-force, Kundalini, energy, light-energy.... or an assortment of many other names. I usually refer to it as Life-force, but you will more than often see it referred to as Chi or Kundalini. This Life-force runs through our bodies, flowing through major energy centres known as the Chakras which is taken from the Sanskrit word, meaning “a spinning wheel”. Each chakra has it’s own purpose, and depending on what you wish to accomplish, you will need to know what chakras are used for what. A chakra appears like a rotating sphere of energy with it’s own specific colour and healing purposes I can’t actually see them when not meditating, but I can feel them. They can feel cold, warm, tingly or just as a dull energy. Everyone has their own way of sensing them. They appear as a string of rotating energy spheres or discs running down the spine. From the top of the head to the genitals, or to the feet. The seven major chakras and four minor ones are the ones that are more commonly used in healing. The seven major chakras each correspond to one of the seven layers of the aura. Many people who astral travel speak of a silver cord linking them back to their body. Chakras are our “silver cord”, our link, to our four bodies : physical, mental, spiritual and emotional. They are present on each of the four body levels. On the physical plane, chakras correspond to places on the central nervous system and to different physical, mental, spiritual and emotional attributes. Each chakra is stimulated by sound, touch, and other energies. They respond to music, reiki, chanting, colour, and various crystals and gemstones for specific uses. To visualise and sense the power by raising Chi, start by lying down somewhere comfortable. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and relax. Run your hand slowly from the Base Chakra (discussed below) to the Crown Chakra. With practice you should be able to sense and/or see each chakra centre. |
