    Makeup and Accessories

    This is one of those pages where I am going to need some help from my girlfriends. I have not bought or used any cosmetics yet, so I'm afraid I don't have much to offer. I plan to start soon and would appreciate any tips or pointers. My plan for the moment is to just go to one of the cosmetics counters at a department store and look around and talk to the girl at the counter. Depending on the feeling I get from her, I may tell her I'm buying them for myself and ask for recommendations. Otherwise, I suppose I'll fall back on the "buying a gift for my girlfriend" routine. {Although *giggle* I'm sure they hear that every day}

    My Girlfriends recommend:

    Jay from Miami, Florida says The CHANEL counter at Saks is a great place to go shopping for perfume and makeup. Not only is CHANEL the best makeup in the world, but the staff is absolutely wonderful. Yes, is true that it costs more than getting your lipstick at Walgreens.....but you get what you pay for, remember that. One fabulous color is Coco Red TRY IT! Victoria's Secrets inside Dadeland Mall is my other favorite place to go buy sexy things. I figured that if those model_sluts can be angels, I sure can be a sexy_little_devil. I used to be a bit more reserved about this shopping deal, but the time is running out and I won't look this cute forever...so this is my turn dammit and I'm not hiding in the closet! Anyways, I hope you know some Miami ladies that would like to go shopping together with me. Thanks, Jay! If anyone in Miami wants to go shopping with Jay, send me a fe-mail, and I'll forward it to him.

    Mary Beth sent a fe-mail saying the Merle Norman stores are great. You know that they know but they are very accomodating and very helpful. I've been asked if I want to try their wigs on in private and treat you like a gg. One location is WOODBRIDGE MALL, off rt. 9 in New Jersey. Thanks, Mary Beth!

    Rich's, Atlanta, GA -- Michelle left a note in my guesbook about this store. She said The girls working at the Clinique counter are very nice. They found the right colors for me. It made a big difference in the way I look. I also tried Elizabeth Arden this past Christmas. They had a special boxed set of eye shadow, blush, lipcolor, etc. It came with some makeup tips. Thanks, Michelle! I saw the boxed set also and wanted to buy it but unfortunately didn't have *quite* enough money left after buying gifts. I'll definitely get one next year.

    Patty's Salon, Spa & Wig Way, Albuquerque, NM -- Along with her contributions to the Dresses and Lingerie pages, Vicki Anne says that this shop offers make-up lessons or application by appointment. They also feature Permanent Lipliner, Brows & Eyeliner and they have a private room available for wig fitting. Other shops she recommends are Tsenre Deveraux for your Mary Kay needs and The Image Studio. Thanks Vicki Anne!

    If you have favorite places where you feel comfortable shopping for makeup and accessories, and would like to share with the rest of the community, please send me a fe-mail or leave a message in Beth's Guestbook and I will post the store name and city on this page. If you own a store which is crossdresser friendly and have a website, please send me the address and I will post it in my links.
